What Is a Karat?
Karat measures gold purity. Pure gold is 24 karats. Lower karats contain gold mixed with alloy metals.
24K — 99.9% Pure
Purest gold. Rich deep yellow. Best for investment (bars, coins). Too soft for daily jewellery.
22K — 91.7% Pure
Warm yellow tone. Popular in Middle East. Good for bangles, chains, bridal jewellery.
21K — 87.5% Pure
Very popular in Dubai. Beautiful colour, good durability. The sweet spot for everyday jewellery.
18K — 75% Pure
Most durable. Allows white gold and rose gold. Best for diamond-set and intricate pieces.
